*** SPECIAL NOTE - This is a box of parts only. It does not come with an ikea style set of instructions and does require some 12v installation knowledge to install these parts however, we have provided simplified instructions below to assist your installation ***
WHATS IN THE BOX
- 2 x AllSpark 100w Glass Solar Panels
- 2 x Pairs of AllSpark Solar Panel mounting brackets (430mm) with black large flange rivets
- Victron 75/15 Smart Solar MPPT controller
- 6m x 6mm twin core cable (4.59mm2)
- 7m x 6mm expandable braided sleeve (this shortens as it expands)
- 1 x Pair of 6mm2 MC4 plugs (connect to 6mm cable)
- 1 x Pair of MC4 2 into 1 branch connectors
- 1 x 16A Solar DC Isolator (sits between solar panels and MPPT solar controller - at MPPT end of cable)
- 1 x 2 pole Isolator housing (housing for 16A Isolator)
- 8 x Orange Boot lace pins (for cable terminations into MPPT - these need to be crimped)
- 1 x 20A Manual reset circuit breaker (sits between battery positive and MPPT controller
- 1 x Traffolyte label - MPPT Output - fix to top of 20A Circuit breaker
- 1 x Traffolyte label - Incoming Solar Isolation
- 2 x 06-08 lugs (for battery connections)
- 2 x 06-06 lugs for 20A circuit breaker connection
- 1 x 06-10 lug (for connection to shunt if using battery monitor
- 100mm of Red and Black heat shrink
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Mount MPPT close to battery - keep cable length under 1m in length.
- If you have a battery monitor shunt, the MPPT Battery negative connection goes to the load side (L-) of the shunt (06-10 lug), if not, then connect to battery negative terminal (06-08 lug).
- Circuit breaker (20A) must be installed within 30cm of the battery positive terminal. Use 6mm cable and 06-06 lugs on the circuit breaker terminals.
- Boot lace pins are supplied for the 6mm auto cable - these are the cable terminations for the battery and PV connections into the MPPT solar controller and also for the input/output connections to the Solar Isolator.
- Mount the Solar isolator into the mounting housing - connect 6mm cable into isolator (kept in the isolated position until ready for energisation) using the bootlace pins. This is marked with Positive and Negative terminals
- Pre-check the required length of your cable between solar isolator and solar panel connections - cut cable to required length, then fit braided sleeve. Tape of heat shrink ends of braid on cable.
- Plug the positive solar panel plugs (2 x male MC4 plugs) from each solar panel into the 2 into 1 MC4 branch connector.
- Plug the the negative solar panel plugs (2 x female MC4 plugs) from each solar panel into the 2 into 1 MC4 branch connector.
- Crimp or solder the loose pair of 6mm2 MC4 plugs onto the 6mm auto cable at solar end of cable. The female MC4 plug goes onto the red cable from the controller to match the existing male plug on the solar 2 into 1 branch connector. The male MC4 plug goes on the black cable to match the female plug on the 2 into 1 branch connector. Make sure you double check the plugs are on the correct cable before you crimp or plug these in - if you get it wrong, it will mean cutting off and needing new plugs.
- Fit Solar panel brackets to solar panels - the brackets are pre-drilled and are supplied with black large flange rivets. If mounting on a flatform style rack the panels and brackets can sit flat on the rack. You will need to drill matching holes in the solar panel frames to fix the brackets.
- Once all connected - reset circuit breaker to battery connection and energise the solar isolator.
- Program MPPT solar controller for your selected battery type and voltage requirements - for AllSpark LiFePO4 batteries, see the FAQ's in this listing for details
